John Potts began work for a large engineering consulting firm in Houston, Texas performing water resources and wastewater management work.  He migrated to the land development side in 1980 working on the 14,000 acre Kingwood project in Houston.  He has also worked on large scale developments for The Woodlands and Cinco Ranch in Houston and American General in San Diego.

Most recently John was Vice President of Land Development for Kennecott Land in Salt Lake City and immediately prior to that was Chief of Operations and Senior Vice President of Land Development for Howard Hughes Corporation in Las Vegas.

He is a graduate of Texas A&M with a BS degree in Material Science and a BS degree in Civil Engineering.  He is a member of the ULI and serves on the Sustainability Council.
